In 3B studio, I expanded on the foundations laid in 3A by tackling the complexities of heterogeneous mixtures in the urban context. This semester, the focus shifted toward understanding how public urban spaces interact with the figure-ground relationships of the city and how a single civic building can embody and influence that dynamic.
My work centered on designing a civic project that integrated not only architectural form and program but also the broader urban forces shaping collectivity and civic engagement. I explored how public spaces could serve as connective tissue in the city, fostering interactions between diverse user groups and embedding the building meaningfully into its urban context.
